In cooking club this week we celebrated halloween by making some chocolate spider cookies. We used oreos, melted milk chocolate and pokeys for the body and white chocolate buttons and chocolate drops for the eyes. They were very fun to make and tasted delicious.

Making Potions!!
This week in writing rockets we made a spoooooky potion and then had a go at writing our own potions!!
Firstly, take 3 spoonfuls of orange tear drops from an evil dragon and pour it into the potion pot.
Next, drop in a small
spoonful of monster ear wax and mix well with a
large wooden spoon.
Now we must add 5
round stones to make the potion tough and strong – remember to give it a good
mix too after you have done this.
Next, we need to add
a spoonful of white crushed witches bones.
Then, slowly pour the
50ml of dragons blood into the pot. Be careful not to splash, as it may burn
your skin!
Put 2 drops of
witches snot into the mixture and give the potion a good stir.
Finally, add the 2
old leaves (off a magic willow tree). Give the mixture a last stir and enjoy
watching the magic to work.
WARNING THIS POTION WILL TURN CHILDREN INTO GOBLINS!!!!!

Cartoon animations
This week we have taken a short break from stop motion animation and learnt how to create animated cartoons. We had to create a scene, create characters and add our own dialogue. It was tricky but we had a lot of fun trying out lots of new skills.
Click on some of the links below to see a few of our first attempts at animated cartoons.
We now can't wait to continue with our hard work and make them even better next week!

Preparing for the bake sale
This week is the Charity bake Sale so in Cooking Club we decided to do some baking. All the children were very happy about this and excited when they found out that we would be making chocolate chip cupcakes with milk chocolate frosting - they were relieved that no vegetables were making their way in this week!
First we had to mix the ingredients in a bowl which we got very sticky doing.
Then we got to add the frosting and eat our yummy cupcakes.
Movie Making!
The children have been working hard creating their animations over the past few weeks. Three groups are now finished and there is one left to go! After half term we will be adding captions and sub titles to our movies.
Unfortunately we are experiencing some technical difficulties uploading videos onto the blog. As soon as this is resolved we will share our animations with you.

Thai Mental Maths
In Thai Mental Maths, kru Jib helps us work out calculations by using an abacus.
Then we use our own abacus to help us complete the booklets.
